Someone Stole My Hat At A Lebanese Wedding

On the sunny shores of old Lebanon
Where they love to sip their Arak,
To those sunny shores of old Lebanon
A filthy thief I'm hot upon his track!
For there's a place in old Manhattan
Where I went and left my hat in
And I never, never got it back!

(CHORUS)

Now someone stole my hat at a Lebanese Wedding,
I don't know why they'd need a hat,
The climate's balmier than that.
I could understand if to Alaska they were heading,
But in the city of Beirut, why there's no need to have such loot!

Cousin Habibi and Uncle Tonoose rolled out the welcome mat,
But when it grew late and was time to vamoose,
I looked for my hat and that was the end of that (no hat, no hat at all)

Now I don't know if my hat's in Paris or Reading,
I don't know what I'm gonna do,
It's just that I must say to you
That someone stole my best hat and I'm not forgetting
That at a Lebanese wedding somebody stole my hat!
